I just tried talking to my work colleagues about this; they all think children are too susceptible at that age… I reminded them we have a Lesbian lady working here, who I damn well know has known her whole life that she is one, and maybe she might have felt more comfortable growing up knowing she isn’t alone. The word normal came up, as expected… Who’s idea of normal? Wouldn’t it be lovely if children could have something to relate to if they aren’t ‘normal’? I think this change needs to happen.

If you agree sign the petition! Change starts small, but it has to start somewhere.

I DON’T. EVEN. WATCH THIS SHOW (yet).

When Nuu linked me to the teaser a few days ago I was like well this is certainly suggestive but now that they’re actually considering making it canon and I can’t even describe what I am feeling. Probably whatever the girls are feeling in this painting. An open lesbian couple in a children’s cartoon is so amazing and groundbreaking and important. Older, brainwashed minds are hard to change but a whole generation of children who can grow up with LGBT couples alongside all of their heterosexual ones and see how normal it is… This would be a step in that direction and oh it would mean so much to me.
